Most of us think that as long as we don’t have any disease we are healthy. This is not correct.

Myth – The absence of disease is health

Most of us think that as long as we don’t have any disease we are healthy. This is not correct. Whenever we have any disease it may be manifestation of a condition that has been there for long or slowly situation reached at that stage that our body could not handle the cause of the disease and could not fight in anymore. When the immunity present in our body is defeated by the bacteria, virus etc. or it is engaged in a fierce battle with them we get sick.

At this stage, the body needs to focus more on fighting the invaders. That is why we have to take rest, eat less and eat the right type of food, so that body’s vital power is used more by the defense system to deal with the disease. It may be interesting to note that when we eat food, the sizeable energy from our body is utilized by the digestive system. Along with the digestion of food body also carries on repair and maintenance.

There are various signs to know if you are healthy or not.  Some of them are as under:

You don’t take any sleeping pills 
You enjoy comedies and like jokes 
You have mood swings 
You are always sad 
You are not generally stressed 
Colour of your urine is not very yellow and it is mostly clear 
Your wounds  take more than normal time to heal 
You do not take unusually long time to heal from surgery 
Your joints are hurtful 
Your tongue is not discolored 
Your skin is dull and is not aging normally 
Your junk food cravings are uncontrollable 

The above suggestive tips can provide a general idea to self-evaluate the status of your health. This is not a replacement for proper medical evaluation.
